Amy is from beautiful El Paso, Texas. After completing high school, she went on to pursue her passion for fashion, graduating from the University of North Texas with degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Business. It only made sense that she then move to New York City, so she accepted an internship with a premiere fashion company. Unfortunately, over the next 3 years her love for the Big Apple and fashion turned gray. Amy realized her childhood dream was not fulfilling in her adult life.
After much soul searching, she decided she could be doing more than picking the perfect shade of green for sweaters. She made the choice to get back home to Texas and begin work on her Community Counseling degree at Argosy University.
We were lucky enough to snag her after she completed her MA hours with us (yay!) and Amy is now a LifeWorks LPC intern, specializing in working with Hispanic individuals and families, blended families, couples, pre-marital therapy, women’s issues, co-dependency, and divorce.
When she’s not at LifeWorks, Amy loves goofing off with her new hubby and running with her dogs Diego, Pelucita, Giorgio, and Bella. She’s also into music, which helps her get through her training for long runs. Amy is also the winner of our “worst Christmas gift ever received” contest. Her winning entry: a Sam’s sized bag of shredded cheese. And no, there wasn’t even a bow on it.
Amy works in our Dallas office and charges $85 for a 50 minute session.
