Get to know Blake

Blake Lever specializes in helping clients overcome self-sabotage and complex trauma. He primarily works with individuals and couples aspiring to “break the cycle” of unhelpful family patterns and heal from childhood adversity. Blake helps clients feeling lost or lonely cultivate authenticity and connection, and guides clients striving to be their best selves across various roles and relationships, whether social, romantic, familial, or professional.

Blake’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, experiential, and holistic. Blake is motivated by the ideal of transcending generational trauma, empowering his clients to live more authentically with increased hope, contentment, and resilience. Primarily oriented in Gestalt therapy, he also utilizes techniques stemming from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to assist clients through their transformative journeys.

Blake's professional background in community mental health includes support of clients managing mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. He also holds experience as a sports performance coach, strengthening athletes' mental resilience and enhancing their performance under pressure.

A significant area of both personal and professional interest for Blake is the gut-brain connection. He explores how gastrointestinal health can affect mental well-being, emphasizing diet and gut health as critical components of therapy.

Blake received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Washington and is currently completing a dual-degree Master of Arts program in both Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Amberton University.

When Blake isn’t wearing his therapy hat, you can find him spending quality time with his wife and two Boston Terriers. He is also an avid gardener, life-long tennis player, and basic sports fan. Blake looks forward to continued development of his nuclear family, career aspirations, relationships with friends and family, and love for adventure and travel.
