Get to know Eliza

There is a common assumption that counseling is only necessary for those who have experienced the most debilitating and traumatic of events. Eliza believes this could not be farther from the truth. Everyone can benefit from counseling because it is a safe space built to empower and guide individuals towards their healthiest and strongest mental selves. Eliza strives to make those around her feel supported, valued, and heard and believes that these attributes are vital to the therapeutic relationship. She understands that life can throw unexpected curveballs, due to experiencing numerous herself that altered how she navigated through life. The mental toll that came with these events urged her to seek help herself, which in turn showed her where her true passion lied; helping others to understand and make sense of the issues they are facing while building mental resilience. Through her practice she hopes to help clients achieve their personal goals and provide an opportunity to give them an individualized space free of judgment, and the chance to grow into their full potential.

Eliza graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Upon graduating, she began studying at North Carolina Central University and is currently working toward obtaining her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2023 and obtain her licensure immediately following. While in school, she has had the opportunity to work with individuals who have been previously incarcerated, have substance abuse issues, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, neuro-developmental disorders, and more. Through working with many diverse populations, she has gained invaluable experience and has learned more about herself and her interests within the profession. Some of her interests include women’s issues, young adult’s issues, grief, trauma, and substance abuse.

When not in the kitchen trying out new recipes, Eliza enjoys getting outside and being active, completing art projects, and reading or listening to audiobooks. She loves traveling and immersing herself in new cultures and ways of life. She hopes to travel to Italy and Greece within the next year.
