the LifeWorks institute
what we do
We challenge you, encourage you, teach you pretty much everything we can cram into your head, and expect you to rise to the occasion. Bottom line – we rock your world.
More specifically, at the LifeWorks Institute, we train LPC Interns & LMFT Associates seeking state licensure, as well as masters level interns seeking supervised experience toward the completion of their graduate degrees.
It’s hard work. Some folks wash out. But no one leaves unchallenged or unchanged.
We’ve created a unique, collaborative training model that’s not only incredibly challenging, but also great fun and, we believe, wildly effective. We think our team approach is the ONLY way to train therapists!
how we do it
We shut the place down for three hours every week and discuss cases as a team – with every LifeWorker present – supervisors, senior clinicians and interns alike. It costs us a lot of money to practice this way (that’s why no one else does it!) but we believe it’s the ONLY WAY TO GO. We’re committed to providing both an optimal training environment and superior client care.

Every case is open for discussion. No question is too dumb, and every one of us – including senior clinicians – makes use of the experience, ideas and creative thinking of the rest of the team.
Our interns have the benefit of three LPC approved supervisors and one LMFT approved supervisor on staff – (all access, all the time, 24/7, we never close), along with access to the experience and ideas of any of our licensed therapists, licensed interns, and the rest of our cream-of-the-crop staff.
how to apply
If you are interested in being a Lifeworks Group masters-level or licensure-level intern, email your cover letter and resume with a picture to staff@wefixbrains.com at least 4-6 weeks before your start date. Your cover letter should mention the population you are primarily interested in working with and your desired start date. Please include a photo of yourself with your resume.
If we have a current or upcoming opening, we’ll contact you to schedule a site visit. All intern candidates are required to sit in on at least one supervision session during their site visit. Intern site visits will be scheduled the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
You may also contact us at 214.357.4001 and leave a message for Chris Jones, our intern wrangler, or speak with Veronica Rabago, our office manager.
We get dozens of resumes monthly, year-round, from all over the country. Get yours in early if you want to be considered for a LifeWorks internship – and get ready for the ride of your life.
