As the son of a Jewish father and Vietnamese mother, raised in the Cajun culture in a small town north of New Orleans, Mitch appreciates ethnic and cultural diversity. He is Cajun at heart, but fully embraces Texas as his home.
After receiving his Bachelors in business and law degree (we’re not kidding) from Louisiana State University, Mitch worked for three years in the sports and academic counseling fields, but felt he needed a change. So he and his wife both quit their jobs, gave away most of their belongings and set their sights on the faraway land of Texas. Despite countless promises to himself (and his wife) that his academic career was completed, Mitch returned to school to study counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary with a desire to help others through life’s challenges.
Through his experiences, Mitch has come to view each individual as valuable, gifted and unique, and believes that healing and change may be experienced through a safe, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. He takes an integrative approach to therapy in order to provide clients with a comprehensive method of treatment tailored specifically to each person’s unique perspective, values, and circumstances.
His passion is to work with teenagers and adults seeking help for addiction and compulsive behaviors (including substance abuse and dependency, Internet/gaming, gambling, pornography and sexual addiction), co-dependency, anxiety, identity and multi-cultural issues. Mitch also enjoys working with those seeking counseling from a Christian perspective.
In his spare (what??) time, Mitch enjoys hanging out with his wife, family, and friends, rooting for his favorite sports teams, cooking up new food creations in the kitchen, reading a good book that encourages him to ponder life’s ultimate questions, serving in his church, and investing in the lives of youth.
Mitch works in our Dallas office and charges $50 for a 50 minute session.
