Generation “WHY?”
If you were born after 1975, you’ve probably discovered your life is different from your parents’ lives.
The London Business School has dubbed you “Generation Y.”
We’re going with Generation WHY, because research shows that you’re constantly reflecting on your relationship with self, work, and the world around you. You’re more in charge of shaping your own life than any generation before you. You want and expect to continually re-invent yourself and author your own life story. Lucky you, right?
Three key differences between Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation WHY:
1) The job for life is no more. You’re not afraid to bounce between jobs seeking personal challenge as well as financial growth. You don’t want a boss. You want a coach.
2) The world is a global village. It’s your playground. Diversity isn’t something you strive for. It’s what you expect.
3) Technology has determined how you work and play with others. Everyone you know from school, work and home is linked together. Generation WHY will pioneer protocol, etiquette and balance in the Information Age.
With all the options before you, you may find yourself asking, “Which road do I take?”
You’re not alone. Most twenty & thirty-somethings are confused. Fortunately, Generation WHY is proving to be an independent, confident, diverse, and collaborative bunch. And if research tells us anything, with some good coaching, regular feedback and a diverse community of people around you, you will ask your own questions, make your own answers and choose your own destinations. We’d love to help you map your journey.
